The Art Gallery of Burlington has a new executive director.

Emma Quin has been chosen to lead the organization as it unveils a new strategic plan later this year.

Quin has been tabbed to lead the organization through the next phase of its evolution, where the AGB uses art to activate the creativity within individuals, organizations and communities to enhance wellness, spark innovation and build economic opportunity.

According to an AGB spokesperson, Quin has been an active collaborator with AGB in the past and, most recently, spent five years as CEO at the Textile Museum of Canada, where she led the museum through the development and execution of its Strategic Plan 2018-2021.

Her leadership experience also includes more than 20 years with Craft Ontario, including nine years as executive director/CEO. Quin has 30 years of experience working with cultural, charitable, and not for profit organizations in Ontario, paired with deep knowledge of the arts and craft sector.

“Ms. Quin brings significant experience in developing strong partnerships and stakeholder relationships, along with strong revenue generation experience spanning federal, provincial, municipal sources along with private sector donations to advance the mission of the organizations she has led,” said the AGB spokesperson.

The Art Gallery of Burlington is an award-winning, public art gallery and community art centre. Founded in 1975 for the purpose of creating a professional and social space to promote, protect and grow arts and crafts in Canada, the AGB continues to be an integral part of the community, and is home to the world’s largest collection of contemporary Canadian ceramics.
