New COVID-19 vaccination clinic coming to the Sheridan Centre in Mississauga

The Region of Peel is opening a new vaccination clinic in Mississauga next week.

Starting on Nov. 17, the Sheridan Centre located at 2225 Erin Mills Pkwy. will be accepting walk-ins for first or second dose COVID-19 vaccinations for anyone born in 2009 or earlier.

Booster doses will also be available at the Sheridan Centre for eligible Peel residents, including Healthcare workers, people over 70 and essential care givers.

Dr. Lawrence Loh, medical officer of health for the Region, said the new clinic will be key in administering vaccines to children between the ages of 5- and 11-years-old once approval and supply to granted from provincial and federal partners.

“This central location is focused on ensuring that every resident who is ready can get their vaccine,” Loh said in a releases. “Whether a first, second or third dose, if you are eligible, we are ready to help you.”

According to Peel Public Health, 89 per cent of eligible Peel residents have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, and 84.8 per cent have been fully immunized.

Staffing for the clinic has been made possible with through the Ministry of Health.
