New Asian grocery store opening in Mississauga where No Frills used to be

Residents near Creditview Rd. and Burnhamthorpe Rd. in Mississauga will have another option available when it comes time to do their grocery shopping.

Fresh Place Supermarket, located in the Deer Run Shopping Centre on 4040 Creditview Rd., will soon be opening its doors.

The Chinese/Asian supermarket, which offers a wide variety of grocery items, replaces the old No Frills store which closed its doors for good last February.

No Frills customers were surprised when they heard the popular grocery store was closing shop early in 2020.

“I couldn’t believe it when my father mentioned this,” said one former shopper on the  Reddit forum. “This has been our neighbourhood grocery for many, many years.

“It was always a pleasure to shop here as we would usually stop off at Dollarama, Wonton Chai Noodle, the bakery, and CIBC.”

There is no timeline for opening date but the sign just went up and a fresh coat of paint.
