New change takes effect for PC Optimum points in Canada

A new change has taken effect for PC Optimum in Canada, giving individuals a new way to earn points.

Customers are now able to get points on eligible delivery orders with DoorDash, Loblaw announced in a news release on Monday.

“We’re extending the value of our program beyond our stores and into even more moments of everyday life,” said Lauren Steinberg, the executive vice president and chief digital officer at Loblaw.

“Whether it’s groceries, everyday essentials, pharmacy, or now your favourite restaurant meals, we’re making it easier to earn rewards wherever and however you choose to eat.”

Individuals can get five points for every dollar on eligible DoorDash orders from restaurants and Loblaw-banner stores, including Loblaws, Real Canadian Superstore, No Frills and Shoppers Drug Mart.

But for the first three months, PC Optimum users will get 10 points for every dollar spent on eligible orders, the release said.

And for customers that are new to DoorDash, from now through July 16, they could get 25,000 points after completing three orders with a subtotal of $20 or more, with 15,000 points for the first order and 5,000 for the two each following that.

Loblaw said existing customers can link their PC Optimum account to DoorDash and get 5,000 points on their first eligible order with a subtotal of $20 or more.
