A Brampton woman is Canada’s latest millionaire thanks to a winning ticket in the June 15 Lotto Max draw.

Aurelia Francisco, a retired entrepreneur, won the $1 million Maxmillions prize.

“This is my first big win,” said Francisco when she picked up her winning at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto.

A mom and grandmother, Francisco is a regular lottery player and her favourite games are Lotto Max and Lotto 6/49. She checked her ticket using the OLG App.

“I saw the big prize amount and I thought my phone was going crazy,” she said.

“I went from disbelief to acceptance really quickly once I went to the store. I called my husband to tell him and he was happy. We couldn’t wait to tell our family.”

Francisco wants to make sure the win is good for her whole family.

“This win is a family prize. I plan to purchase a family cottage that can be enjoyed for generations.”

The winning ticket was purchased at Georges Convenience on McVean Drive in Brampton.
