A new bakery, juice bar, ice cream shop and more are set to open at a building in Mississauga’s Heartland Town Centre (HTC) next summer.

Those who frequent HTC may have noticed some construction and been wondering what that’s all about.

Paola Caldaroni, Manager, Retail Leasing and Marketing for the Orlando Corporation, told insauga.com that they are doing construction at 5985 Rodeo Dr. and are redeveloping a total of 22,347 square feet of space into 13 smaller units ranging from 2,500 square feet to 900 square feet.

According to Caldaroni, this area was the previous Harry Rosen outlet and Suzy Shier, both of which relocated to 788 Boyer Blvd. and 775 Britannia Rd.

Caldaroni told insauga.com that this was done to meet the demand for smaller retail units for lease and the fact that they are always trying to enhance the shopping experience at the centre as well as bring in new retailers.

Along with the new bakery, juice bar and ice cream shop, the community can also expect a new rehabilitation clinic, shoe store, nail salon, cigar shop and more to open in the summer of 2023, according to Caldaroni.

There are currently five units that are still available for lease.
