Amazon has launched a new feature for shoppers across Canada.

The company said this week that an “add to delivery” option is now available, which allows people to add an item or items to an existing order.

“With a single tap, members can instantly add eligible items from across Amazon—everything from pantry staples, to pet toys, electronics, clothing, books, and more—to upcoming deliveries,” Amazon said.

“It’s an easy, fast, and free way to avoid creating new orders for last-minute additions.”

The new feature is only available for Prime members.

Eligible items show a blue “add to delivery” option on their product detail page. It’s available on the Amazon app or Amazon.ca.

When shoppers tap the button, the item is then added to the upcoming delivery. If someone changes their mind, they can cancel the order any time before it ships.

As mentioned, the option is only available for Prime members.

Prime also includes free delivery, streaming, and other features.

It costs $9.99 per month or $99 per year and eligible customers can get a 30-day free trial.

Meanwhile, last month Amazon also announced that it fully rolled out Alexa+ in Canada — the company’s “next generation assistant powered by generative AI.”

“Alexa+ builds on what customers have always loved about Alexa, but it’s also completely new and significantly more capable—it’s smarter, more conversational, more personalized, and can get a wide range of things done on your behalf,” a post on Amazon’s website said.

Alexa+ is available on Alexa-enabled devices, through a browser experience on Alexa.com, and through the Alexa app.
