As if the warm weather wasn’t enough of a reason to look forward to spring, Brampton baseball fans now have another reason.

The new Judith Nyman Field Of Dreams accessible baseball diamond is now complete and will be available for booking starting next April.

The field was developed through a partnership with the City, the Peel District School Board, and one of 12 grants from the Jays Care Foundation Field Of Dreams.

The first of its kind in Brampton, the Judith Nyman Field Of Dreams is located at 1305 Williams Parkway between Judith Nyman Secondary School and Williams Parkway Senior Public School.

It’s close enough for students at Chinguacousy Secondary School to use, and there is also easy access to Highway 410, making it convenient for all Brampton residents.

The field has substantial accessibility features, including an accessible ramp, and concrete access pathways to the field, as well as parking spots which have been added to the Terry Miller Recreation Centre parking lot.

It also boasts functionality features including artificial turf infield, natural grass outfield, and hard-packed gravel warning track; modified, 60-feet base paths; a shorter outfield; a modified pitcher’s mound with no grade change; accessible players’ bench area; and concrete access pathways to the field.
