The final push is underway to finish construction on a more than 300-home community in Brampton’s Credit River Valley.

A groundbreaking ceremony at Brampton’s Spring Valley Village earlier this month kicked off the final phase of the planned community which, once completed, will have some 330 semi-detached and detached homes.

With homes up to 4,300 square feet, the community features ravine lots with a finished walk-out basement and is located near Brampton’s Mount Pleasant GO Station, schools and the city’s natural woodlands.

The final phase will be detached homes with fully finished basements, brick and stone detailing, and two-car garages.

Brampton Mayor Patrick Brown attended the groundbreaking and says the city needs more housing “to meet the challenge of Canada’s housing crisis.”

“Serving a growing population of over 700,000 residents with more than 250 cultures speaking 115 different languages, our priority is building a modern, inclusive city that reflects the needs of our community,” Brown said, the World Construction Network reports.

With Brampton expected to see a population spike of 195,697 residents by 2041, the city is working to greenlight more housing developments including a proposed townhouse development and a new subdivision with an elementary school and hundreds of homes.
