UPDATE: Nearly 5,700 homes, businesses in Hamilton affected by power outage

Thousands of homes in the Dundas area of Hamilton were without power on Tuesday night due to an outage related to a storm moving across Southern Ontario.

Alectra Utilities said that 5,693 homes and businesses in the Dundas area were affected by the outage. The expected time of resumption was initially 9 p.m., but Alectra said all power had been restored as of 7:34 p.m. on Tuesday.

The affected area started at Olympic Drive / York Road and along Regional Road 8. It stretches west and north to Sydenham Street and Harvest Road.
