The weather and the ongoing driver shortages are both playing roles as Durham Region parents and students are dealing with another 39 school bus routes cancelled today, including 16 in Clarington.

Ten schools in Clarington are affected: Duke of Cambridge, St. Joseph, Bowmanville High, Lydia Trull, Good Shepherd, St. Stephen Secondary, Newcastle, Clarington Central High, Clarington Central Intermediate and St. Francis of Assisi.

Ten routes in Pickering have also been cancelled, affecting six schools: Altona Forest, St. Monica, Highbush, Dunbarton High, Pine Ridge High and St. Isaac Jogues. Ajax has eight routes dropped today, with four schools affected: Cadarackque, Lincoln Alexander, Carruthers Creek and Bolton Falby.

The other five routes and three schools are in Oshawa: O’Neil High, St. Christopher and St. Anne.
