There is a minimum four-week wait from the time a person received their first dose before they can get their second. The exception is for residents who received Oxford-AstraZeneca for their first dose, who are required to wait eight weeks.
It takes about two weeks to develop maximum immunity to COVID-19 after receiving a second dose.
Overall, Peel Region has vaccinated 69.0 per cent of its total population, with 51.5 per cent having completed their vaccine series. That includes 80.1 per cent first-dose coverage among the adult population who are at least 18 years old, and 79.3 first-dose coverage among the eligible 12-and-older population.
Among adults, 60.9 per cent have completed their vaccine series, while the uptake is 59.2 among the eligible population.
