Pearson Airport in Mississauga, check flight status due to bad U.S. weather

Travellers en route to the U.S. via Pearson Airport in Mississauga today should check the status of their flight ahead of time, airport officials say, as nasty weather south of the border could cause some delays.

“Inclement weather has been causing delays along the U.S. eastern seaboard this morning that could stretch into the early afternoon. Passengers heading south ahead of the American Thanksgiving holiday should keep an eye on their flight status, especially if connecting,” Pearson officials said via social media.

A large swath of the eastern U.S. has been dealing with nasty weather the last day or so that includes heavy winds and rain, freezing rain and, in some areas, snow.

Mother Nature’s wrath has impacted tens of millions of travellers there — both in the air and on the ground — as people head to their various destinations for U.S. Thanksgiving on Thursday.

The worst of the weather, forecasters in the U.S. said, was to hit areas around the Great Lakes, the northeastern seaboard and parts of the southeast.
