Events in the park in Oshawa kicked off July 9

The City of Oshawa kicked off its summer Events in the Park entertainment series on July 9, with the event wrapping up September 11 with a movie under the stars at Columbus Park.

The series will feature a variety of music genres, live theatre and a movie night. Plus, new for this year, patrons can treat themselves to food and drink from a variety of local food trucks that will be on-site.

Next on the agenda is an evening of world class jazz in Memorial Park downtown on July 30 with local musicians Just Us Jazz. Bring a lawn chair or blanket, relax with family and friends and enjoy a mix of swinging jazz standards, blues and familiar favourites.

Additionally, the Memorial Park Bandshell will host the Oshawa Civic Band on Wednesday, July 15, August 5, and August 26 from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

The Oshawa Civic Band has been presenting outdoor concerts at the McLaughlin Bandshell since 1942, making it a cherished summer tradition for generations of Oshawa residents.

On Friday, September 11, enjoy a movie under the stars at Columbus Park. The movie will begin at dusk and move lovers are welcome to bring their own snacks and chairs.

The movie selection will be voted on next month on the city’s Events in the Park social media channels.
