Oakville’s largest outdoor event is coming back next month.

The annual Oakville Family Ribfest is being held June 21-23 at Sheridan College on Trafalgar Road.

“This expansive paved site means we have more ribs, more music, more things to see and do, more fun for the kids, more sweet treats, and more enjoyment with friends and family all weekend long,” said a spokesperson for the event.

Nine ribbers are expected to set up at the event, including Boss Hog’s, Route 55 Tennessee BBQ, Gator BBQ, Bubba Lou’s Bar.B.Q, Jack the Ribber, Crazy Canuck Smokers, Texas Jack’s Barbecue, and Camp 31.

In addition, there are plenty of other vendors where you’ll be able to grab things blooming onions, fresh-squeezed lemonade, soft-serve ice cream, pizza, pasta, shawarma, Japanese mochi donuts, apple fritters and beaver tails.

Entertainment will be provided by Burlington’s Bare Blue Sea and The Practically Hip on Friday, True Rodeo and Motown Mania on Saturday and Chris Ayries and the Hornets on Sunday.

For the kids, there will be a Capt’n Nick Dance Party, Major Magic the Magician, and Duffle Bag Theatre’s presentations of Snow White and Peter Pan.

The free Kids’ PlayZone will have activities like face painting, balloon twisting, bouncy castle and bucket drumming on all three days.

Oakville Family Ribfest is:

  • Friday, June 21, noon to 11 p.m.
  • Saturday, June 22, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
  • Sunday, June 23, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Sheridan’s Trafalgar Campus is located at 1430 Trafalgar Rd. Entry is $5 and free for kids 8 and under and parking is free. All the proceeds from the event are donated to local charities.
