Music from popular opera to be performed at Mississauga theatre

Music from a popular opera is set to be performed by the Mississauga Symphony Orchestra at the Living Arts Centre soon.

The performance will feature music from The Barber of Seville where singers will join the Mississauga Symphony Orchestra to perform Gioachino Rossini’s beloved comedic opera.

The Barber of Seville follows the story of a barber named Figaro who helps Count Almaviva in prising a woman named Rosina away from her guardian, Dr. Bartolo.

The show, which is widely considered a masterpiece, is full of recognizable music that has been featured in pop culture through film and television.

During the performance, attendees can expect to hear The Barber of Seville‘s iconic overture, Figaro’s famous aria, “Largo al Factotum” and many more.

The performance, which will take place on Saturday, Feb. 11 from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., will be narrated by Margaret Cormier.

The show is suitable for all ages and ticket prices start at $40.
