The stabbing death of a Toronto man just outside of Brampton has police across Canada on the hunt for the murder suspect.

The Toronto Police Service says officers were called to a banquet hall just outside the Brampton city limits in the area of Hwy 27 and Steeles Ave. West shortly after 9:30 p.m. on Friday for reports of a shooting.

But when officers arrived on the scene they discovered someone at the hall had been stabbed and had already been taken to hospital.

Shacquan Harrison, a 24-year-old from Toronto, died in hospital from his injuries, police said.

Now, investigators have put out a Canada-wide warrant for 26-year-old Omary Bent of Toronto. Police say Bent is facing second-degree murder charges and that he is considered armed and dangerous.

Police also say a firearm was recovered from the banquet hall and that one man was arrested. One other victim was also injured in the incident and were brought to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
