One man has been charged with first-degree murder and two others with accessory to murder in the 2021 death of a man who was gunned down as he sat in his car outside an east Mississauga restaurant.

Homicide detectives with Peel Regional Police made the arrests on Thursday in connection with the Sept. 22, 2021 execution-style slaying of Mohamed Abdirahman.

The killing took place just after 8 p.m. in the parking lot outside Dav’s Hotspot Restaurant at 1365 Mid-Way Blvd., near Dixie Rd. and Courtneypark Dr. E.

Police say Abdirahman was inside his parked vehicle when he was shot and killed by culprits who then fled the area.

Nigel Gutu, 20, of Stoney Creek, is charged with first-degree murder.

Malachi Riley, 25, of Mississauga, and Parteek Ghuman, 22, of Stoney Creek, are each charged with accessory after the fact to murder.

Police say the investigation remains active and are urging anyone with information to call detectives at 905-453-2121, ext. 3205, or Peel Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
