Police have charged a Brampton man with second-degree murder after a body was found in Orillia.
The OPP says officers were called to Scouts Valley Trail around 7:10 p.m. on Tuesday where one person was found dead. Police have not disclosed any details about the victim, but called the death “suspicious.”
On Wednesday, police said an investigation led to the arrest of a suspect from Brampton. The OPP says Devon Alamina, 33, of Brampton, has been charged with second-degree murder.
While residents can expect to see an increased police presence in the area of Scouts Valley Trail, investigators say there is no ongoing threat to public safety.
Investigators are urging anyone who was in or near the Scouts Valley Trail area on the evening of Tuesday to contact police.
