Multiple Home Depot thefts lead to arrest of Clarington man

Man charged with 16 thefts at Home Depot stores

A series of Home Depot thefts in Bowmanville and Oshawa led police to one man who is alleged to have committed 16 separate thefts over a six-month period.

Police in Durham Region say Julian Nicholas Phillips of Clarington has been charged with 16 counts of theft, with the robberies occurring between October 2025 and April 2026.

Investigators with the East Division Criminal Investigations Branch began their investigation into multiple thefts at Home Depot stores located in Bowmanville and Oshawa in May, with the thefts totalling more than $5,800 in stolen merchandise.

Phillips was released on an Undertaking.
