Some travellers at Pearson Airport in Mississauga were frustrated to find that they couldn’t check in or board their flight on Friday.
The problem was a technical issue with Air Canada’s check-in and boarding process.
Multiple people took to Twitter to vent their frustration directly to Canada’s largest airline.
@AirCanada hello, your online system is not allowing me to check in online which is very frustrating because there is nowhere to input my pr card details, only my nationality, which is not canadian.

The airport itself also received complaints online, to which it confirmed that the problem was a technical issue on Air Canada’s part.
Air Canada is currently experiencing technical difficulties with their check-in and boarding process.

While the issue has since been resolved, the Greater Toronto Airports Authority (operating Pearson) has advised travellers that there may still be some delays as they work through the backlog of cancelled/delayed flights.
The cause of the technical issue is still unknown and is currently being investigated.
What we do know is that it certainly hasn’t helped the airport’s reputation for struggling with delays, with Pearson recently ranking near the bottom among all North American airports in September.
