Multiple emergency responders on scene at serious Mississauga crash

Numerous first responders are on the scene after what appears to be a serious crash in south Mississauga this afternoon (Aug. 12).

According  to reports from the scene, at least two vehicles were involved in a collision on westbound Lakeshore Rd. W., near Clarkson Rd., at about 3 p.m. or shortly after.

Peel Regional Police, Mississauga firefighters and Peel Paramedics quickly responded to the call.

There is no word yet from police on the extent of any injuries, or any other details about the collision, but reports from the scene describe the incident as a “serious crash.”

Traffic is backed up on Lakeshore Rd. in both directions.

Update: Peel Regional Police said one person was taken to hospital with injuries not considered to be life-threatening.

Police added they received the call at about 2:35 p.m. that four vehicles had been involved in a collision at the location.

All roads in the area have now been reopened.
