A Toronto man is in custody after a loaded handgun with a bullet in the chamber was found in his car in a Brampton parking lot Wednesday.

Peel Police say Strategic and Tactical Enforcement Policing officers were investigating the driver for possible drug offences when they discovered the loaded Jimenez Arms 9mm handgun with one round loaded into the chamber inside the vehicle.

The parking lot is located at Kennedy Road and Clarence Street.

Marvin Green, 46, is charged with six firearms offences, including possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm, as well as having cannabis “readily available” while in control of a vehicle.

Green is in custody awaiting a bail hearing.
