Several areas in Brampton and Caledon are in the province’s top 50 for highest COVID-19 positivity this week.

Toronto-based research group ICES listed the top 50 postal codes in Ontario with high COVID-19 positivity for the week of Jan. 16 to 22.

Three are in the Brampton and Caledon area:

L7K at 33.33% (Caledon)
10th highest positivity in Ontario

L6T at 29.62% (Brampton)
26th highest positivity in Ontario

L6S at 28.39% (Brampton)
35th highest positivity in Ontario

According to ICES, Ontario’s overall positivity for the week of Jan. 16 to 22 has fallen to 18.4%, with 458 postal codes reporting positivity of 10% or higher (down 22 from last week).

ICES also says case counts reported since December 31, 2021 represent an underestimate of the true number of individuals with COVID-19, due to changes in eligibility for SARS-CoV-2 PCR testing.
