Multi-vehicle crash closes portion of 401 in Whitby

All lanes of a portion of Highway 401 in Whitby were blocked Thursday morning (Oct. 7) as emergency crews respond to a multi-vehicle crash.
OPP said one person has sustained serious injuries in the collision, which involved three cars in the westbound lanes of the 401 approaching Brock Street.
The injured person had to be airlifted to hospital and all lanes of the highway were closed to make room for the Ornge landing.
Motorists may want to consider alternate routes.
