Motorists across Ontario might experience a little sticker shock on Friday (Aug. 27) when they hit up the gas pumps.
According to Dan McTeague, gas analyst and president of Canadians for Affordable Energy, gas prices are expected to increase by 5 cents per litre just in time for the weekend.
The average price for gas across the GTA as of Thursday morning was hovering around $1.35 per litre.
“After rising 1 cent a litre Thursday, gas prices are expected to really rock your pocket with a 5 cent a litre increase to 140.9,” McTeague said in a Tweet.
Across the country, gas prices are on the rise with Vancouver expected to see a spike of as much as 6 cents a litre and as much as 8 cents a litre in Calgary, according to McTeague.
