Update: Motorcyclist dies following major collision in Brampton; road closures in affect

A man has died after a collision earlier today at the intersection of Goreway Drive and Auction Lane in Brampton.
According to Peel Regional Police, the incident, which took place at approximately 4:44 p.m., involved a vehicle and a motorcycle.
The motorcyclist, whose identity has not been disclosed at this time, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say the driver of the vehicle remained at the site of the collision, cooperating with authorities.
As a result of the accident, commuters are being asked to seek alternate routes in order to avoid traffic congestion in the vicinity of the incident.

The circumstances surrounding the collision are still under investigation, and anyone with information is asked to contact the police.
In light of the ongoing investigation, Goreway Drive is currently closed in both north and southbound directions between Queen Street and Deerhurst Drive.
Auction Lane has also been shut down between Queen Street and Goreway Drive.
