Motorcyclist dead after crash with SUV in Hamilton

A motorcyclist is dead after a crash with an SUV in Hamilton on Thursday.

Emergency crews responded to the crash on Highway 6 and Book Road East in Hamilton shortly after 6 p.m., the Ontario Provincial Police said.

The motorcycle rider, a 64-year-old man, was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, police said.

Highway 6 was closed in both directions between Highway 403 and Airport Road West, and Book Road East was closed between Fiddlers Green Road and Southcote Road for the investigation.
