Motorcycle and vehicle crash closes major roadways in Mississauga

A man riding a motorcycle is in critical condition after colliding with a vehicle in Mississauga this afternoon.
Peel Regional Police say the crash, which was reported shortly before 2 p.m., happened on Dixie Road near Rathburn Road East and Burnhamthorpe Road East.
The motorcyclist suffered serious injuries and was rushed to a trauma centre. His current condition remains unknown.
Officials have not provided further details on the victim, including his age, name, and place of residence.
All northbound moving lanes on Dixie Road are blocked from Rathburn Road to Burnhamthorpe Road, police say.
Drivers can expect delays and are advised to use alternate routes for the time being.
Peel police have not provided an estimated time for when the roadways will reopen to the public.
The cause of the accident is still being investigated.
