The Halton Catholic District School Board updated its staff vaccination report and the number of employees who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 has risen by two percentage points.

As of Nov. 25, 3,097 of 3,310 (93.6 per cent) full time workers are fully vaccinated and another 8 are partially vaccinated. Eight staff have a documents medical exemption.

That leaves 190 staff (5.7 per cent) who are not vaccinated and another seven who have not submitted an attestation form, which would include staff on long-term leave.

According to the Catholic board policy, those not fully vaccinated have to provide regular negative tests to enter the workplace.

Among those frequently in schools or other setting who might have direct contact with staff or students, like visitors, volunteers, contractors, other professionals and bus drivers, more than 93 per cent are fully vaccinated (954 of 1,020). One person has a medical exemption and 55 are not vaccinated.

In Halton, 89 per cent of residents have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and 86 per cent of people are fully vaccinated.

The board will continue to update their numbers as the school year progresses.
