More than 4,000 Hamilton homes and businesses are without power Friday afternoon.
According to Alectra Utilities, the outage occurred at 1:52 p.m. in the Crown Point neighbourhood and parts of Stipley.
The Centre on Barton commercial plaza, which houses Walmart, Staples, Metro, and Canadian Tire was also hit with the outage.
Alectra says the outage was caused by a supply shortage from Hydro One.
Crews are working to restore power, which Alectra expects to be completed by 3 p.m. on Friday.
