More than 400 homes in Brampton without power

Update 10:00: Electra crews have restored power to all but 72 homes in the neighbourhood. Crews are working now and their estimated repair time remains 11:30 p.m.

More than 400 homes and businesses are in the dark in Brampton tonight after a surprise power outage.

Alectra Energy reported the lights were out around Flowertown Ave & Mclaughlin Rd N at about 8:40 p.m. July 6 affecting 331 homes and businesses

Shortly thereafter Alctra updated their estimates to include 467 customers. At the time of their first announcement Alectra had dispatched a crew.

They later estimated repair completion from around 11:30 p.m. Sunset is 9 p.m. tonight leaving some in Brampton in the dark for a couple hours at least.
