Don’t put away your snow shovels just yet — winter is not quite over.

While many are still recovering from Friday (March 3) evening’s storm, there is more snow in the forecast for Mississauga and Brampton.

Up to 30 cm was predicted for the storm Friday (March 3) but 18.6 cm came in the evening and another six cm fell on Saturday, according to the Weather Network. It took the entire weekend for City of Mississauga crews to clear the snow.

“We are happy to update you that all winter operations for this event have now been completed,” the City of Mississauga said in a tweet on Sunday evening.

Brampton had crews working all weekend as well.

“There will be over 80 pieces of equipment working on the local roads throughout the night.  Local road plowing and salting (salting as required) should be 100% completed by noon Sunday,” Mayor Patrick Brown said in a tweet.

And with all this winter weather, it’s hard to believe spring is just under two weeks away on March 20.

Mississauga and Brampton will see cooler temperatures this week compared to Sunday — from 0 C to 3 C with some much-needed sunshine.

But snow is in the forecast starting Friday evening. Thankfully, much less precipitation is expected — around 5 cm Friday, 1 cm Saturday and 1 to 3 cm on Sunday, according to the Weather Network.

Environment Canada is predicting a chance of snow or rain on Friday and Saturday. The sun is expected to return on Sunday.
