Travellers looking to take a trip back in history have several more flight options starting this week at Pearson Airport in Mississauga.

Airport officials announced Air Transat has resumed two weekly flights to Athens, Greece as the busy spring travel season continues. That schedule will double to four weekly flights courtesy of the Canadian carrier starting this summer.

Last week, the airport announced Air Transat had resumed three weekly flights to the coastal city of Barcelona, Spain from Pearson.

With some 1.6 million people, Barcelona is home to the second-largest population among cities in Spain.

Meanwhile, closer to home, Air Canada has this week resumed three weekly flights to Salt Lake City, Utah.

“Get ready to hike beautiful canyons, explore national parks and enjoy all that this stunning city has to offer,” Pearson officials said via Twitter.

Earlier this spring, Air Transat announced it was once again offering two flights per week to Amsterdam, capital of the Netherlands. Service increased to three weekly flights between the two points last week and four flights per week will be scheduled starting in June.

With the spring travel season well under way and summer season just around the corner, Pearson Airport is offering those looking to get away for a vacation more options when it comes to destinations around the world.

Airport officials also announced earlier this spring that Air Transat had resumed nonstop weekly flights to Dublin, Ireland. The carrier will increase that service to six flights each week to Ireland’s capital starting in the summer.

In late March, Pearson announced additional flights to New York City and other U.S. destinations had been added while in early April it was announced flights were being added to various European destinations, including Denmark, Spain, Greece and Portugal.
