More flights added to sunny destinations from Pearson Airport in Mississauga

Travellers looking ahead to a sunny getaway this winter will have more options from Pearson Airport in Mississauga.

Air Transat, a Montreal-based airline, is increasing its flights to three popular, warm destinations for the 2024-2025 winter season, according to a press release from the airline.

“For the 2024-2025 winter season, we are favouring growth focused on our flagship destinations,” said Sebastian Ponce, chief revenue officer of Air Transat. “Leveraging our partnership with Porter Airlines and our annual routes to Europe, we are able to take advantage of their expansion into the domestic market to reach a wider audience.”

At the peak of the season, Air Transat’s overall schedule will include nearly 300 non-stop flights per week from seven Canadian cities. In addition to TorontoOttawa and London, it will also offer flights from MontrealQuebec CityHalifax and Moncton, according to the release.

Air Transat is increasing the number of flights per week from Pearson to Cancun, Mexico, Punta Cana, Dominican Republic and San Jose, Costa Rica.

There will be 16 flights per week to Cancun and Punta Cana, up from 14 last year. And there will be three weekly flights to San Jose, up from two last year.

Air Transat is also increasing non-stop flights to London Gatwick, which will have daily service.
