More Doses After Dark vaccination clinics slated for Mississauga, Brampton in next two weeks

On the heels of two successful Doses After Dark COVID-19 vaccination events in Mississauga and Brampton, Peel Public Health (PPH) officials remind residents that they’ve scheduled a third round of after-hours clinics.
The upcoming clinics, which cater to residents who for various reasons are unable to book appointments during regular clinic hours, are slated for:
- Feb. 5, 1:00 p.m. until midnight at the Save Max Sports Centre in Brampton (1495 Sandalwood Pkwy. E.)
- Feb. 12, 1:00 p.m. until midnight at the Rockwood Mall Clinic in Mississauga (4141 Dixie Rd. )
These extended clinic hours will offer eligible residents the flexibility to get their booster dose, as well as their first and second doses, PPH says.
Dr. Lawrence Loh, Peel’s medical officer of health, said the after-hours clinics are for people such as essential workers, those who work odd hours and others who may have difficulty with childcare or finding time to bring the entire family in for their shots.
“The aim is to really provide as much convenience as possible for people into those later evening hours on those Saturdays,” he said.

Appointments for the Doses After Dark clinics are available through the provincial vaccine booking portal.
PPH said late-hour clinics last year were especially busy and advise that late-night appointments will go quickly.
Earlier this week, PPH said it reached its goal of vaccinating 90 per cent of eligible Peel residents with at least two doses.
The milestone was reached in the last week or so and comes on the heels of another important number: three million total doses have been administered across all age groups in Mississauga and Brampton.
Loh says third dose coverage within the broader community is currently hovering at around 40 per cent.
A Doses After Dark vaccination clinic is being held at Rockwood Mall on Saturday, Feb. 12.
