More details have emerged regarding the incident involving Megan Thee Stallion and Brampton rapper Tory Lanez.

Lanez, whose real name is Daystar Peterson, was charged with assault in relation to an incident that occurred this past July during which Megan Thee Stallion, whose real name is Megan Pete, was shot.

According to Rolling Stone, Peterson allegedly shouted “Dance, b—-,” before shooting at Pete during an argument, hitting her in the foot a police officer testified on Tuesday (December 14).

The officer went on to testify that Peterson allegedly apologized and offered Pete money in an attempt to buy her silence.

Over the course of the investigation, the two sides have offered significantly different descriptions of what happened, and Peterson has maintained his innocence.

In lyrics that have since been released, Peterson has vaguely referenced the incident, including “I ain’t do it but I’m comin’ at my truest,” in Money Over Fallouts, which was released in 2020.

Sources suggested the two sides were close to reaching a plea deal in November, but nothing has been made as of yet, and Peterson is committed to his current plea of “not guilty.”
