Today (Sept. 27), Halton Region’s two school boards are reporting several new cases of COVID-19.

According to the Halton Catholic District School Board (HCDSB), there are now two cases at St. Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Secondary School and one new case at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Secondary School in Oakville.

According to the Halton District School Board (HDSB), new cases have been reported at the following Milton schools. Craig Kielburger Secondary School now has two cases, Irma Coulson Public School has five and Escarpment View Public School has two.

New cases have also been reported at schools in Burlington including five at Alton Village Public School and three at MM Robinson High School.

While these positive cases have been reported, the HDSB has stated that it does not necessarily mean that the individual was exposed to COVID-19 at the school.

“A positive case at a school does not mean the individual was exposed to COVID-19 at the school.  They may have been exposed somewhere else in the community,” stated the HDSB.

There have been no school closures at either school board as a result of these cases of COVID-19.
