Transit bus service changes in Mississauga April 2025.

Public transit service in Mississauga is being beefed up starting this week and passengers who use six of MiWay’s busiest bus routes will be among those who benefit most, city officials say.

The enhanced service on those half dozen routes is part of a series of improvements and changes across the system that will take effect on April 28.

MiWay, the City of Mississauga’s public transit provider, says the increased frequency on the popular routes — 7 Airport, 26 Burnhamthorpe, 61 Mavis, 103 Hurontario Express, 108 Financial Express and 109 Meadowvale Express — is part of an effort “to meet customer demand” on the high-demand routes.

Starting Monday, the buses will run more frequently on routes:

  • 7 Airport — frequency increases on Saturdays and Sundays during morning, afternoon and evening
  • 26 Burnhamthorpe — frequency increases on weekdays during morning peak, midday and evening peak periods
  • 61 Mavis — frequency increases on Saturdays during the afternoon and evening periods
  • 103 Hurontario Express — frequency increases on weekdays during the morning peak and evening peak periods
  • 108 Financial Express — frequency increases on weekdays during the morning and evening peak periods
  • 109 Meadowvale Express — frequency increases on weekdays during the morning peak, midday and evening peak periods

The system upgrades are the latest in an ongoing series of enhancements geared towards improving reliability of service “as traffic and ridership patterns continue to evolve throughout the city,” MiWay officials said earlier.

Other changes to MiWay service effective April 28 include:

  • temporary detours on routes 17, 28, 36 and 103 due to construction — 17 Hurontario (detours through July 31), 28 Confederation (unspecified end date), 36 Ridgeway (detours begin April 28) and 103 Hurontario Express (unspecified end date)
  • seasonal reduction of post-secondary bus service — due to lower customer demand during the summer academic term, service reductions will be in effect on routes 44 Mississauga Road, 101A Dundas Express, 110 University Express and 126 Burnhamthorpe Express. Regular post-secondary service will resume on Sept. 2
  • schedule adjustments to improve service reliability on routes 7 Airport, 14 Lorne Park, 16 Malton, 45 Winston Churchill, 61 Mavis, 103 Hurontario Express, 108 Financial Express and 109 Meadowvale Express
