Two Montreal men are facing fraud charges after fake prescriptions were filled at multiple pharmacies in Oshawa last week.
Police were called to the pharmacy inside the Real Canadian Superstore on Gibb Street at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 19 after a man attempted to fill a prescription with fraudulent doctor’s documents. The suspect left the area in a waiting vehicle prior to police arrival.
A short time later officers found the suspect vehicle at a second pharmacy at King Street and Stevenson Road in the west end. Two men were and taken into custody and a search of the vehicle discovered fraudulent medication prescription documents and a large quantity of prescription medications valued at more than $15,000.
Mohamed Oudha, 26, and Mohammed Boulfred, 38 – both of Montreal – were each charged with fraud under $5,000, uttering forged document and possession of stolen property. Boulfred was also charged with breach of probation.
Both were held for a bail hearing.
