Mississauga’s Port Credit hosting Halloween party, haunted lighthouse tour, and more

For some of the best Halloween festivities to be found in Mississauga, head south to the city’s beautiful lakeside community of Port Credit.

Port Credit’s annual #HalloweenINThePort event is back and spookier than ever this year, with a wide array of games, contests, and activities that are sure to entertain the whole family, including your furry friends!

The festivities take place on Saturday, October 29^th from 2 pm to 7 pm.

Here’s a peek at everything happening in Port Credit for Halloween:

Wizard of Oz themed party

The theme for Port Credit’s Halloween party is The Wizard of Oz! Stroll down the yellow brick road and see costumes and decorations inspired by The Wizard of Oz and its beloved characters: Dorothy, the Scarecrow, the Tin Man, the Lion, and even the Wicked Witch of the West herself. The party happens at 200 Elmwood Ave from 2 pm to 6 pm.

Historic tour at the lighthouse

The iconic Port Credit lighthouse is about to get spooky! After the Wizard of Oz party, partygoers are invited to journey back in time with a historic walking tour that explores the tales of the sunken ships that can be found in the frigid waters of Lake Ontario. Tour participants will learn all about Port Credit’s rich and fascinating marine heritage, as well as about the heroic people of Port Credit who risked their lives to rescue the men and women of these sailing ships.

Be sure to register for the tour, which happens from 6 pm to 7 pm at the lighthouse located at 105 Lakeshore Rd W.

Tricks-and-Treats at Port Credit businesses

During the festivities (2 pm to 6 pm), you’re invited to participate in Port Credit’s beloved Tricks-and-Treats tradition. A number of local businesses in the community will be handing out candies, pumpkin decorations, and even dog treats for your pup! All participating businesses will have posters up to show that they’re open to trick-or-treaters.
