Bianca Andreescu’s run in the 2021 Eastbourne International has come to an end.

After winning her first match and moving on to the round of 16 on Tuesday (June 22), the Mississauga native was eliminated in straight sets—6-3, and 6-3—to Estonia’s Anett Kontaveit on Wednesday.

It was a disappointing end for the Canadian, who has struggled of late—she’s lost three of her last four matches.

After being eliminated from the singles tournament, Andreescu still had a chance to compete for the doubles championship, as she and teammate Yulia Putintseva of Kazakhstan played in the round of 16 also on Wednesday.

However, they were unable to advance to the next round, as they lost the second and third sets of their match–7-5 and 10-5–after winning the first 6-4.
