Police are asking members of the public to help find a Mississauga woman who was last seen in a small Ontario town.

The OPP says officers from the West Parry Sound Detachment were called around 7:30 a.m. on Thursday to the area of Swords Road and Highway 124 in Whitestone Township, some 45 kilometres north of Parry Sound.

The call was for a missing person, and police say Changhui Zeng, 82, hasn’t been seen since.

Investigators say Zeng is described as 5 feet tall and weighing 100 pounds with short grey hair and brown eyes. She may be wearing a blue button-up shirt with a floral pattern and black pants.

Residents in Whitestone can expect to see an increase in police presence in the area, including the OPP Emergency Response Team, the OPP Canine Unit and OPP Aviation Services.

Anyone with information about this incident can contact the OPP by calling 1-888-310-1122. Anonymous tips may also be provided to Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-8477 or visiting www.ontariocrimestoppers.ca.

When you contact Crime Stoppers you stay anonymous, never have to testify, and could receive a $2,000 reward.

Law enforcement agencies across Ontario have stopped releasing the last name of missing persons in recent years due to concerns that the information will make individuals vulnerable to future online searches.

When deemed necessary by investigators, they will release surnames and genders of missing persons.
