Guests were exposed to COVID-19 at two different wedding venues in Mississauga during the recent Thanksgiving long weekend, says Peel Public Health.

The public health unit issued an advisory on Monday (Oct. 18) about exposures at two separate locations in the city. Anyone who attended either venue during the day and hours in question should get tested, regardless of vaccination status. Individuals who are not fully vaccinated must self-isolate until they receive a negative test result.

The locations are:

  • Red Rose Convention Centre (Champaign Hall), 1233 Derry Rd. E., on Friday, Oct. 8 between 6 p.m. and 11 p.m.
  • Candles Banquet Hall, 1224 Dundas St. E, Unit 18, on Saturday, Oct. 9 between 6:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m.

Those seeking testing because of exposure at either location should give testers the following outbreak number: 2253-2021-48743.

Fully vaccinated individuals attending either event, who do not have any symptoms, do not need to isolate; however, they should continue to follow precautions such as masking, physical distancing and limiting contacts while waiting for test results. Testing locations can be found by Googling “COVID testing near me” with location services enabled.
