A Mississauga man was killed when the tractor-trailer he was driving collided with two other large trucks on Hwy. 401 in eastern Ontario last Tuesday.

Sharanpreet Singh, 24, was pronounced dead at the scene of the Jan. 18 crash, which occurred just after 4:30 p.m. between Fraser Rd. and County Rd. 27 in South Glengarry, about 20 kilometres east of Cornwall.

OPP released the man’s name yesterday after taking time to contact his family members.

Police say Singh was driving his truck on westbound Hwy. 401 when it struck a second tractor-trailer from behind, which in turn hit a third large truck.

Singh was pronounced dead at the scene.

The drivers of the other trucks were not injured, according to police.

The crash closed the highway’s westbound lanes for several hours.

OPP are still investigating and ask anyone with information to call them at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
