A Mississauga man is starting 2020 off with a big lotto win.

OLG says Manuel Portillo Rivas has that “6/49 feeling” after winning a Lotto 6/49 second prize worth $77,974.50 in the December 28, 2019 draw.

Rivas matched five numbers plus the bonus number to win the prize.

“This is a first-time win for me,” Rivas told OLG.

The 57-year old truck driver checked his ticket using the OLG Lottery App.

“I almost fainted,” he told OLG “I had to ask my wife to double-check that I won!”

Rivas told OLG that he plans to pay off some bills and plan a trip with his wife to celebrate his big win.

“Winning is such a happy feeling!”

The winning ticket was purchased at Petro Canada on Winston Churchill Boulevard in Mississauga.
