Mississauga transit employee dead after workplace accident

An employee with MiWay, Mississauga’s public transit system, has died after a workplace accident.
The City of Mississauga announced the maintenance employee’s passing at around 1:40 p.m. this afternoon (Sept. 17).
The accident took place this morning at the MiWay garage located at 975 Central Pkwy. W., near the Sky Zone Trampoline Park in Mississauga.
Details surrounding the circumstances of the accident have not been released. There is no word yet on whether the Ministry of Labour will be investigating.
“Our thoughts and support are with their family & colleagues at this time,” the City of Mississauga said in a Twitter post.
Mississauga Mayor Bonnie Crombie says the city flags will remain at half mast in the passed employee’s honour.
