Dadar Express is rolling into Oakville.

The “unique” family drama, a production of Mississauga Creations, will debut Saturday, July 16, 2022 at the Oakville Centre for the Performing Arts.

The play is written and directed by Partha Sankara, Creative Director and Founder of  Mississauga Creations.

The plot revolves around a young professional, Bala, who is successful in most ways, but not all.

Bala’s journey across states and through time will pull at the heartstrings of all of us who navigate love, family, and difficult choices in our lives.

Theatre-goers will want to know what happens next in Bala’s emotional roller coaster ride.

“The script is written in Tamil, Hindi and English in a manner that it will be enjoyable for both Tamil and Hindi speaking audiences,” said Narayanan Raman, who is with the theatre group.

Formed in 2003, the Tamil theatre group is made up of a set of theatre lovers from the Tamil community. They have produced and performed stage plays in Canada as well as parts of the United States.

“The artists in this group come from diverse backgrounds,” said Raman. “Our plays are mostly based on situational comedy, but we have also ventured into plays with serious themes.”

Tickets for Dadar Express are $25 each and can be purchased online from the Oakville Centre for Performing Arts website here. (https://www.oakvillecentre.ca/dadar-express.html).

Guests of honour for the debut include respected Consul General of India at Toronto, Mrs. Apoorva Srivastava, and Dr. V.I. Lakshmanan, Innovator, Entrepreneur, Philanthropist and Recipient of the Order of Canada.
