Two Mississauga teens are facing a rash of drug and weapons charges after police seized a loaded handgun, amounts of cocaine and fentanyl, and $10,000 in cash during a home search on Wednesday (May 17).

A Halton Regional Police drug investigation led Street Crime Unit officers with that law enforcement agency to Mississauga this week where they executed a search warrant at a home.

As a result of the search, police seized a loaded 9mm Glock handgun, about 12 grams of cocaine, 1.1 grams of fentanyl and the Canadian cash.

They arrested two male teens shortly after the search.

A 17-year-old youth and a 16-year-old youth, both of Mississauga, are each charged with various offences including: possession for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine and fentanyl), unauthorized possession of a firearm, careless use of a firearm/weapon/ammunition, and possession of prohibited or restricted firearm/ammunition.

At the time of his arrest, the 17-year-old was on a release order with conditions not to possess any firearms.

Both were held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, neither youth can be identified.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 905-825-4777, ext. 2416, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
