A Mississauga restaurant has made it on a top 100 list for brunch and lunch in Canada.
Mother’s Day is coming up this weekend and a new survey from online restaurant reservation service OpenTable found 50 per cent of Canadians plan to dine out this weekend.
Nearly three-quarters (71 per cent) of Canadian moms prefer to celebrate Mother’s Day with a family brunch or lunch with their children present, the survey found.
This year, OpenTable’s list of the Top 100 Restaurants for Brunch and Lunch features 56 places in Ontario.
On the list is a Mississauga mainstay, Taps Public House at 6570 Meadowvale Town Centre Circle. Open for brunch on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., the menu includes everything from steak and eggs to chicken and waffles.
Those looking to celebrate Mother’s Day with brunch should make reservations—this place can get busy, particularly on special days.
OpenTable has been producing the top brunch spot lists for several years but made a change to this year’s list.
“For the first time in Canada, our annual Mother’s Day list now includes the top brunch and lunch spots…” said Matt Davis, Senior Country Director, OpenTable Canada.
Dining at 1 p.m. on Mother’s Day saw the biggest year-over-year growth in 2024, at 22 per cent, Davis said.
“Mother’s Day is one of the biggest dining occasions of the year, a golden opportunity for restaurants. With our top list, we aim to help diners discover and secure the perfect spot to celebrate Mom in style,” he added.
Other Ontario restaurants on the list include places in Toronto, Etobicoke, Guelph and Niagara Region.
